Lane Conrad and Dan Koon

Lane Conrad and Dan Koon, married, of Cerca Trova Kennels in Dry Creek Basin in SW Colorado, have been in the Bracco world since 2000.  They were lucky enough to meet their mentors, Tina Steffens and Jaap Muller of Di ala D'Oro Kennels in the Netherlands, and obtained Dino and Alba (from Italy - thanks, Jaap!)  who was raised with Dino's litter.  They have since bred several litters, puppies of which have happy owners all over the United States.

Dan and Lane also own Mari, from Tina and Jaap, Flora, from Dino and Alba's 2002 litter and Astor, their most recent import from Italy.  Astor comes from GianPaolo Poggio, the owner of Rivana, one of the winningest Bracco bitches ever.  Astor, as well as all of Cerca Trova's other Bracchi, have passed their PennHip and OFA hip certifications with flying colors, and are CERF (eye certified for various hereditary eye problems.)

Dan manages their small ranch and WashnWatchDogs, their in-home, no-cage dog boarding and training operation, and is a full-time father of Justis and Radigan, as well as being an accomplished cook and webmaster.  Lane, an all-breed groomer, veterinary technician and photographer, handles pick-up and delivery of their dog clients in Telluride, where she provides obedience and behavior training.

Cerca Trova's focus is to breed Bracchi which are strong, healthy hunting companions, while strictly adhering to the Italian breeding philosophy and style of dog.  Lane and Dan stand for genetic testing to prevent dogs with the possibility of serious problems from being bred, thus passing on those bad genes to the next generation.  They want to help future owners in learning as much as possible about keeping this wonderful breed as great as the Italians have made it.
