My husband Robert and I live in San Diego California.  I am a CPA and he is a Pharmacist.  We both grew up with dogs but never had one of our own.

We were introduced to the Bracco Italiano Breed through the World Dog Show from Milan in 2000 on TV.  The Bracco Italiano won the Best in Show and I fell in love with it at that moment.

My husband Robert and I agreed that this dog would be great to have.  He was watching the World Dog Show in another city and just happened to watch at the same time.  I knew it was meant to be.

We then proceeded to search the internet for a breeder.  We were a little discouraged to find all the breeders were in Europe.  I thought that I couldn't get a dog because of this reason.  However, we didn't give up.  We had a trip planned to the UK and decided to set up a meeting with the breeder in Northern England.  The meeting went very well and we were ready to get our dog from them.  However, due to complications with importations we went searching again.

We were very lucky to find Lucia Delor de Ferrabouc from Delor Kennel in Milan Italy.  She was ready and willing to help us in any way to get a dog.  We decided we wanted a show dog and would try our hand at showing even though we knew nothing about it!

Finally, a year after we started searching for a dog, Rico flew into LAX.  We had no idea where this dog would take us.  We didn't know if US judges would find him show quality or not.  After a lot of positive comments and help from other breeders and handlers in the show arena, we feel like we have a very special boy.  He was 4th at the World Dog Show 2002, ARBA champion (number 6 overall point winner for the US in 2002), IABCA Champion and currently Rico is being trained for field trials.  Ever since the beginning, we have been showing, promoting and protecting the Bracco Italiano in the United States.  It's hard to walk down the street without someone asking about him.

We have shown Rico all over the Southwestern US and internationally in Amsterdam.  There we met Jaap Muller and Tina Steffens of Kennel Di Ala D'Oro and they graciously invited us to their home after the show.  Through them we made contact with the owners of all the dogs they have sent to the US.  From there, we have created a network of passionate and loving people who are ready and willing to step up for this breed.  We are excited about this club and hope that more people will join us in keeping this beautiful dog true to standard, safe and healthy.

Lots of Bracco Love!
